It may be considered that QSNL has a higher risk of PIH, and that long-pulse lasers are more suitable for darker skin types. However, more purpura developed with the long-pulse Nd:YAG technique, and the increased risk of scar formation is a main concern in long-pulse laser treatment. In this study, we have confirmed the effectiveness and adverse effects of QSNL in the treatment of lentigines, both on the basis of physicians’ and patients’ subjective assessment, and by using the more objective colorimeter evaluation method.

Key point in dermoscopic differentiation between early nail apparatus melanoma and benign longitudinal melanonychia.
Longitudinal melanonychia presents in various conditions including neoplastic and reactive disorders. It is much more frequently seen in non-Caucasians than Caucasians. While most cases of nail apparatus melanoma start as longitudinal melanonychia, melanocytic nevi of the nail apparatus also typically accompany longitudinal melanonychia. Identifying the suspicious longitudinal melanonychia is t...

متن کاملLetter to Editor Subungual pigmented squamous cell carcinoma presenting as longitudinal melanonychia: a case report with review of the literature
Occurrence of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in the nail is rare [1], although it is the most common epithelial malignancy of the nail apparatus [1, 2]. Less than 300 cases of subungual SCC (invasive or in situ) have been reported in the English-language literature [2]. The clinical diagnosis of this type of tumor may be difficult and is often missed and/or delayed because of the heterogeneity o...

BACKGROUND Diagnosis of longitudinal melanonychia is usually difficult, and neither a single clinical criterion nor a combination of symptoms currently can be used to clearly distinguish malignant from benign bandlike pigmented nail lesions. Biopsy is painful and often leaves definitive dystrophic scars. OBJECTIVES To describe and evaluate dermoscopic patterns associated with longitudinal nai...

Objective We sought to establish screening strategy for SUM in situ. Methods We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 8 patients pathologically diagnosed as SUM in situ between January 2015 and September 2016. Results All p...
